Meet Miss Michelle

I teach Pre-K/TK/Kindergarten Special Day Class in Room 19. This is my second year at Highlands and my ninth year teaching in Mt Diablo Unified. I previously taught a Pre-K Special Day Class at Shadelands Center in Concord. I am so excited to become part of the Highlands community!

I grew up in Pleasant Hill and am an alumni of MDUSD. After high school and through much of college, I worked as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapist for children with autism and related disorders. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Cal State East Bay and continued my education there with a Multiple Subject (elementary) teaching credential. At that time I realized that my passion was in special education and went on to Saint Mary's to earn my Education Specialist credential. In 2014, I earned my Master's in Special Education, specializing in Early Childhood Special Education from San Francisco State University.

I currently live in Pleasant Hill with the cutest dog on the planet, Dickens, AKA Dickie, Dixon, Bubbas, and Good Boy. In my spare time you can find me at an A's game, Warrior's game, spending quality time with friends and family, or more likely, eating ice cream in front of the tv.
